Call to Worship
One: O give thanks to the LORD!
All: Make known God's deeds among all people!
One: Sing to God.
All: We sing God's praises!
One: Seek God's strength.
All: Seek God's presence continually.
       Let us tell of God's wonderful works!
              From Psalm 105: 1-4

Prayer of Confession (as responsive reading)
One: O God, there are times when we struggle to find the right path.
All: Like Jacob we feel alone or adrift,
One: We wrestle to find meaning in our lives.
All: Sometimes we actively resist your direction in our lives.
One: We want you to incline an ear to us,
All: And we do not even listen for your answer.
       Open our ears, God, that we may listen for your voice in our hearts.
