Pentecost

Call to Celebration

One: God, you send forth your Spirit,

All: And it is as if a great wind rushes through our gathering,

One: As if tongues of fire rest on each of us.

All: We feel the presence of your Holy Spirit among us, with us,

One: Calling to us each, in a language we can understand,

All: Calling us to share our gifts. Let us be inspired to do Your will.

Call to Worship for 19 May 2013:

One: When God sends forth the Spirit, the face of the ground is renewed.

All: God’s Spirit is poured out on all who are gathered.

One: When the Spirit is upon them, the young prophesy and see visions,

All: The old dream dreams.

One: From heaven comes a sound like the rush of a violent wind,

All: Filling all with the Holy Spirit.

All: Let us sing our praises to God!

Call to Worship
L: A great wind rushes through our gathering.
P: Tongues of fire rest on each of us.
L: The presence of the Holy Spirit is among us.
P: God calls on each of us to speak Truth,
L: In a language that others can understand.
P: To be advocates for the immigrant, the homeless
L: To be comforters of the lonely, the hopeless.
All: Let us be inspired to do God’s will! Amen.
