Third Sunday in Epiphany - Year C

Call to Worship

One: What do we do to be more like Jesus?
All: The Spirit anointed Jesus to bring good news to the poor,
One: release to the captives, and freedom for the oppressed.
All: What did Jesus do to answer God’s call?
One: Jesus welcomed sinners and ate with them.
All: How are we God’s hands in our world?
One: When we let the dreams we dream be larger than we've ever dreamed before;
All: And we let the dream of Christ be in us and let it open every door. Let us worship God.
                from Luke 4:14-21

Litany for Third Sunday in Epiphany, Year C

One: Jesus says God's spirit has anointed him to bring good news to the poor,
All: release to the captives and freedom for the oppressed.
One: but, Jesus also calls us.
All: How can we be a part of this movement begun by Jesus?
One: We pray for open ears, that we might better listen,
All: to each other and for Jesus' call to us.
One: We pray for open hearts to engage in the passion of Jesus' ministry,
All: and for open minds that we might grow in our understanding.
Let us join our hearts and ears and minds in worship.
                  From Luke 4:14-21
