One: How many times have we done nothing because we feared we could not do enough?

One: How many times have we been reluctant to try a new way to live our lives?
All: Shake us from our complacency.
One: Teach us to let go of what we hold fast.
All: Teach us to count our days with your joy that we may gain a wise heart.
One: Satisfy us with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad.
All: We open our hearts to worship you, O God.
