Call to Celebration

L: O Lord, you send forth your Spirit,

P: And it is as if a great wind rushes through our gathering,

L: As if tongues of fire rest on each of us.

P: We feel the presence of your Holy Spirit among us,

L: Calling to us each, in a language we can understand,

P: Calling us to share our gifts.

ALL: Let us be inspired to do Your will.

Seventh Sunday of Easter – 5 June 2011

Call to Celebration

L: We are in God’s sanctuary. Awesome is God!

P: Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; sing praises!

L: The God of orphans and protector of widows has a holy habitation.

P: God gives the desolate a home to live in, and leads out the prisoners to prosperity.

L: Rain, in abundance, God has showered on us.

P: Lift up a song to God who rides upon the clouds.

All: Be exultant before God! Blessed be the Lord!

Call to Worship

L: Bless God, brothers and sisters, let the sound of praise be heard!

P: Come and hear. Listen to what God has done!

L: God has given us an Advocate, a Spirit of truth.

P: God is with us. We are not left orphaned;

L: God truly listens, and gives heed to the words of our prayers.

P: We may go through trials of fire and water, yet God brings us out into a spacious place.

L: God accepts our prayers, and loves us unconditionally.

All: Blessed be God!

L: With God as our shepherd,

P: We will not be in need.
L: God is with us.

P: In green pastures and by still waters we renew our spirits.

L: God is at our side.

P: Even in despair we find courage, in darkness we find light.

L: God comforts us.

All: Let us share God’s love with others.

Call to Celebration
L: Love Yahweh God; for God hears us and listens to our prayers.
P: We will call upon God today and always.
L: When we feel death come too near, when anguish and distress grip us;
P: We call out to Yahweh our God for help.
L: What can we offer in return for all God's goodness to us?
P: Let us take the cup of salvation, giving thanks to God.
All: O praise the Lord. Alleluia.
